“I wanted to create something for us,” Belle recalls. “There’s power in representing who you are, where you come from, and what you believe in. Strategic Mami was about more than just T-shirts; it was about giving people a voice—a way to celebrate their heritage, their ambitions, and the legacies they’re building.”
Growing up Afro-Latina in The Bronx, Belle always felt a deep pride in her Diasporic roots. But finding clothing that truly resonated with her identity wasn’t easy. She wanted to make apparel that celebrated cultural pride, strength, and community. She felt that her community deserved a brand that understood and celebrated its journey, struggles, and dreams.
Before Strategic Mami, Belle held roles as a Commercial Corridor Manager, Minority Business Specialist, and Business Outreach Manager. Each position deepened her understanding of economic empowerment and community building. Her time supporting minority entrepreneurs showed her the impact of visibility, how the right opportunities could uplift entire communities. This experience taught her that change starts when people are empowered to share their stories.
